Small engine carb?
#2
I’ve heard of some guys using small Enya carbs in the past. Maybe a carb from
an .09 might fit? You’d have to compare the neck size of the carb to the neck size on the engine for starters, and probably limit throttle opening a bit since Diesels don’t need as much air/fuel as a glow does.

I have used the Enya .09 carb in both in the PAW .09 and the Philtech 1.5cc. It is rather crude with an adjustable airbleed only, but a diesel engine doesn't need anything more sophisticated than that. In fact it gives you more to tune on than the stock PAW carb that only has a fixed airbleed carb. You don't need to add any restrictor to the carb, but you can put the end of "spraybar" further in, which then helps with the fuel draw and there is no need for any muffler pressure to the tank.

AVAILABLE: New Enya .11 Carburetor. Base 8.7mm diameter, barrel opening 4mm. Also New .09 Needle valve.
Not available to anyone that will refer to it as a "carby"! [email protected]

The intake on the Sabre is about 7.5 mm o.d. If I can fit a brass tube or aluminum tube over that, then I can use an Enya .09 carb. But how to do that is the question. Probably too much heat for epoxy. Solder probably too brittle. Any ideas on how to attach a tube to the intake?

I have JB Weld as a staple in my tools. Are you saying I should JB Weld the carb to the fitting over the hole the same size as the id on the shank of the carb? I was thinking about a tube that will slip over the intake "shaft" and I could fit the shank of the carb in the other end of the tube, contacting the intake. If the tube had some decent wall thickness I could thread two opposing holes and use set screws to hold the carb to the tube. I would JB Weld the tube over the intake shaft.

You could always soften the JB Weld with a paint stripper if you need to remove it at some time.

The AP .09 has a 9mm dia with a 4 or 5mm hole. It may work, although there is no air bleed. You might have to turn the 9 mm down to 7.5 mm to fit, from my understanding of what you have. They are usually cheap if you can find them..Looking at some examples of the Sabre, maybe a smaller .049 carb would be better, and the baloney cut end would have to be straightened.
