Yes I have a carbon tube and can lift the plane with the stinger... which I think was a good idea. I might put a hole and run a tube coming from the bottom of the fuse to the carbon tube and pin it with a bolt. I honestly haven't looked at the elevator attachment enough to figure it out.
Other question: How long is the air cylinder for the speed brake? Is 4" travel about right?
Finally have other fires put out and can spend time on this plane!
Do any of you European guys know Francesco Mondinelli? He makes beautiful cockpits. I've been trying to get him to make even just the seats for the SU-27. If a bunch of us got together and guaranteed orders, wonder if he would do it???... I can't stand the idea of putting a vacuum-formed cockpit in this gorgeous plane. I can design and print the side panels and instrument panel, the seats are past my CAD abilities. I have the SLA printer to print them in high detail, just not the chops to design the seat.

Hi guys!!
I forgot to tell you about my new 5' Robbarts light wheels and brakes test flight, they worked really well not a problem retracting them even dough they are heavier than dubros, braking is also a lot better now
The only thing is that they don't hold the weight of the plane when is seated for long periods of time, the good thing is that they recover their round shape really fast, not like dubros that once they go flat they'll stay that way.... at least on my case that I leave the plane asembled at a hangar for long periods of time,,,,

He sent me the file, and I printed with my SLA printer. Can't wait to get it mounted. I accidentally ordered the two wheel nose gear, getting it converted back to a single now.

I'm not in this for selling stuff. And Dirk specifically asked that I didn't. I don't think he'd mind me passing on the file and you can send it to shape ways and they will print it for you, would that work? I am still tweaking the file a little, making it thicker in a few places. I can share once I've got it dialed. For best detail, it needs to be SLA printed, not from a filament printer. Here it is painted. For my matrix gear, I will need to print a bracket for the two top supports. Not sure how the newer Sierra gear would attach.

Anyone had any experience with the new Down and Locked gear? Looks like this and Matrix gear are available in E versions - anyone got any real world experience with either or any feedback before I take the plunge? The pictures I've seen of the D&L stuff look really good but I don't think there are many sets out there yet.

Hi Andrew, i have not seen anyone with those e gears, but I noticed that Carf was offering s new set of elec gear not long ago, also Erwin from Air tech has an electric gear for the SU....
Or do you already have a set and want to convert?

I have the matrix E gear, looks really good. He made scale metal hubs with real rubber. Big question is will they cycle in the air. You can tune them out by holding them and it doesn’t take a lot of force to do that... I haven’t tried them st the max of 7.4 volts yet, hopefully that will be enough. John did a very nice job and the price was fair as well.

I have ordered the airframe and am ordering the gear so have flexibility on what I go for - electric would be nice for a more scale like retraction speed.
There were some pictures of the new gear on the CARF Facebook page and they looked nice but I think the Matrix gear is a bit cheaper. Just trying to size up the options

Mine is currently off being painted with Phil Noel. Not sure I can contain the excitement of waiting

One guy trying to build it with two K85G2 not heavie then 20 kg (for JWM). Is it possible without huge reconstructions or not? What do you think?

Not sure that's going to be possible. The K-85s are only going to save about 2 lbs from the 160s in my build, not sure where you could shave another 4 lbs. My weight was also with junky Dubro wheels, definitely not JWM quality.
Oh, another huge factor, my weight was pre-cockpit. Completely forgot about that also. 20kg would take some kind of miracle.
