I am a bit concerned by the lack of give in the oleos. Even full of fuel, it takes a lot of downward pressure on the model to get the oleos to start to compress.
They are the Top RC oleos.
Anyone else had this problem & bad effects on landing?
Interesting that the TopRC Aspire seems to be sitting low on its Oleos in most pictures. I thought the 2 planes shared the same gear?

I do believe the Odyssey and Aspire use the same gear. Mike at Gator Hobbies is the importer for the USA and has gear sets and replacement parts in stock.

not many manufactures include UAT, as people have their own preference for use.
What about wire harnesses for all the servos?

as for the predator i have a k180 in it and it is more of a hard surface jet. a bit more weight than the odyssey but again a lot of plane for the money i bought the turbine ready version and very happy with all that was included and quality is great also. i did order the smoke tank from top rc direct and it got here in under 10 days and fits perfect.

guess it depends on what turbine you have in mind the odyssey will fly well from 120 up i would say predator is 140n and up power
also you can get the predator in turbine ready and save time and some money in the deal and your in the air faster

predator kevlar tank has uat built into it nice feature
Do you think the predator tank would fit in the Odyssey?

I don’t think so, the odyssey has a tank that is shaped for the inlet ducting. The predator tank is a big rectangle shape. I don’t think there would be room.

because the more money I have to spend on this jet for better components, the closer I get to T-1 pricing with electric gear and xicoy controller. Similarly equipped, it's only about $500 more, and is lighter and more suited to the 160 I have planned. The only reason the T-1 is further down the list is the extra cost and build wait time.

The only things I upgraded were titanium rods and ends. The tanks are fine IMO but I did glue the vent fittings and the tank bungs.

FWIW the T1 has semi symmetrical wing. I’m pretty sure the odyssey is fully symmetrical.

How so? Not just tank construction, but included hardware, available gear options, available PNP options with a variety of different servos to choose from, e.t.c all seem like perfectly fine decision making process to me.
Oh, and speed envelop(I like speed).
I don't necessarily have an issue with the supplied fiberglass tanks, but they don't include a UAT like the predator tank and I have a spare predator tank is why I asked. And from what I'm seeing, all you get is the fiberglass carcass and it's up to you for fittings, which is more money to spend.
Does the Odyssey come with a wiring harness for the servos?

I’m buying a UAT for mine.
i have not seen a wiring harness made for the odyssey. I’m running a variety of extensions and zip ties and wiring wraps.

No wiring harness is included but I make my own. As far as speed...its as fast as you want to go within reason. I've got a SW-190 in mine which is overkill but I like vertical performance. The UAT I chose is a FCT 200ml clear tube which is a perfect fit. My servos (seven)are Savox 1230sg on 2 cell LIFE and work flawlessly and I believe they are around 500oz at $80 each. 30mm arms are needed and 75mm titanium rods if upgrading. The only mod I made is cutting a piece of 1/8 inch lite ply for the tanks to rest on...no structure on the belly. I'm using the bottom tank and top for fuel and get 8min of flying and land with 1/3 of the lower tank still full...hope this helps

thanks for the info. I am currently flying a pilot 2.2 predator at 29.5lbs dry with a sw170b. I consider power and speed, er, decent. My concern is that this jet will be too similar to my predator in weight and flight envelop. Was hoping it would be lighter and that a 160 would be overpowered. Sounds like a 170 would suit my needs better, but there goes another $300...

The tank hardware is questionable...i run(in all my jets) BVM heavy cluck, Bvm tank line, and Jet Tech bungs with M5 Festo compression fittings. Like I said earlier, Savox 1230sg is in all my 2m + planes with the same fuel fittings ,rx,batteries,UAT,and cortex pro gyro. It makes things easier for field repair because I need just a few parts.

I agree... I don’t think I’ll use this plumbing. I think I’ll end up with the jct fittings and uat.
