bit ironic but i just read on facebook this second that another 5K$ jet kit came with tons of cracks and blemishes and the manufacturer can't be bothered to respond about it, other than offering the owner to buy parts. exactly the same experience as i had with the same company.
im not going to post the company name here, but its easy to find the thread on facebook if you like.
and a local buddy is building a 10K$ kit and is grinding teeth over manufacturing woes.
this happens to everyone, and it doesnt hurt actually building a few bits on any kit to make it better. especially when there is good solid service and support behind the product.

Let's put it this way. it's easy to forgive when it's not you that's suffering.
I'm not saying this kit is completely junk. I'm just saying it's not worth the investment if you have to fix too much.
When you buy a new car. Do you expect to take it home to fix it , just because you know how to drive it?

Thanks, I've already tried emailing Mike @ gator rc and still waiting for reply. Wanting to see if their is touch up paint for the Honda/Canon theme or paint codes. While I'm here, when your throws are lets say 28mm both ways, is that 14/14 or 28/28? Thanks in advance.

28/28.
throws are measured per side.

Curious if anyone has an issue with jet climbing too easily with speed? I carry down trim even with the CG maybe just hair nose heavy. The turbine and exhaust tube are at whatever incidence the kit was made too. The ailerons and flaps are all neutral to the wing tips so they are all in alignment. Inverted flight requires more down stick than it should to maintain level flight, especially as you go faster. In other words, it climbs constantly when up right and you increase speed. If it was a prop plane I’d add some down thrust or ensure the wing didn’t have too much positive incidence.
if you had this issue, what did you do to correct on this kit?

What do you guys use for plumbing inside the tanks?
On all my gassers I use Tygon with a metal insert to keep the clunk in the bottom of the tank, but looking at the shape of these tanks, In not sure.

The Odyssey is a great looking and great flying plane....just takes a bit of adjusting to correct some bad tendencies. Overall, I am extremely happy with it...especially for the price point

Do you think raising the front by a quarter or 5/8 inch would eliminate the additional throttle to elevator mix?
i will check the wings relative angle to stab when I get a chance. I’m curious now.

The plane requires almost no trim at partial throttle. The fact that trim changes with throttle setting makes me think it is a thrust line issue. I may either raise front or drop rear more if I can not get it right with a mix. The delay in spool you will probably make the mix a little strange

I do use viton on some installations.
My question, do you use a metal tube inside the viton to keep it stiff, or do you let the viton fold freely with the weight of the clunck?
BTW, I checked the link in your signature, you guys have a beautiful field in Forida...
