Thats why why I was wondering if you put the black wires on different pins and gang the red on one pin, it would work. I know you can run 4 servos on a 6 pin connector By ganging all of the red wires on one pin and all of the black wires on another pin And then running each signal wire on the remaining four pins

I normally used 1 AMP 10 pins connector per side (Ail/Flap Gear/brks) like the one Ultimate jet sell, they are on digi-key website.....

Hi Tumbler,

I hear and see you on the gaining all the wires on to one pin.

But these pin's arn't the biggest so it would be quite a bunch, and if it would come lose for some reason the whole lot is without power.......

I do doubt now cause it would also save a lot of connectors and it would make it a bit "cleaner" but stil, the redundancy thing.....

Not saying it's wrong, you just make me doubt now what to do on mine.....

Cheers,

Ed

I had the same concerns about putting everything on one plug. My original plan was to use the Ashlock servo connectors but could not find them in stock anywhere so I have been trying to come up with alternative solutions. As was mentioned earlier by Dansyp, I do like the idea of splitting up the right and left side of the wing on two different plugs. I think I’ll go that way with whatever plug I use.

If you make your own extensions, Hansen Hobbies has latching polarized connecters (same as Ashlock I believe) in multiple pin configurations. I used 2 on my Joker: an 8 pin for gear/brakes and a 12 pin for Aileron/Flaps, 1 to 1 pins for everything and no chance of plugging connectors in wrong (right and left wings). Here's a link to the connectors at Hansen Hobbies:

Anyone ever seen this before with JP gear? On the eighth flight I noticed I needed to trim the steering a bit and then flew her again for her ninth flight and then as I was taking everything apart I noticed the nose wheel strut has a ton of play. It looks like the hole in the strut opened up from what I can tell because the set screws are tight and no play in the trunion.

There are two bearings in the housing that support the pin for the strut, they're cheap un-shielded bearings, the balls fall out of the races with just the slightest hard landing, bet that's your problem. I replaced mine with these:

Rock solid now.

So Once I got home I figured it out. It looks like the pain got bent backwards and it’s actually the pin wiggling in the bearing. The bearing may be messed up which really sucks. Only time I can think of where this might’ve happened was when I had a bump and the runway because I remember it taking off abruptly.

Still trying to to figure out how to get this pin out. Anyone know where to get parts for this gear??

Thanks so much!!! Exactly right! The pain is slightly bent but the bearing is definitely messed up as you said. I will order those up! Thanks again

By the way guys, I am balanced at 180mm inverted with gear down and full uat and still pretty noseheavy. Takes a good amount of down when inverted and if you pull to a 45 degree up line and roll inverted it drops aggressively to the canopy side. So the 175mm in the manual seems to be very conservative.

That Su...

Think i better bite my tongue off on this one..........

Chasing the bearings over here as we speak to swap them out even before the first flight, is the pin one of those with that tiny C-clamp to hold it in place, same as on the smaller JP gears are set up? (mini avanti ones)
Think its wise to order hardened pins straight away then as well just to play it safe.

Cheers,

Ed

smart move. I would have changed them out if I knew as well. The pin does have a c clip holding it in. My pin didn’t bend by the way. It just looked like it did because the bearings were crushed.
My bearing block is a bit messed up and would like a backup pin so if you know a source I’d love to know.

Hmm no I don’t think so. I’ll take a pic when I get home. The brass piece is much smaller.

Got my Boca bearings today and installed in my nosegear now I noticed an issue with the servo. What the heck? Had a fun fly at the field this weekend and can’t get a replacement servo in time now. Ugh

Do you have a servo tester you can cycle the servo on with no arm?

cycle it for 10 minutes.

Unfortunately I don’t. Would it be different than cycling with the transmitter?

Most testers you can set going and walk off. Unless your radio has a cycle test option?

Sat in in front of the TV and moved the rudder stock back and forth for 10 minutes. Did not change anything with the servo situation. It is still
messed up.

Ok, and looking at your Tx monitor the nose steering channel moves smoothly?

It is Y’d to the rudder servo and rudder servo moves perfectly smoother. I tried a couple other servos hooked up to the steering channel and they work perfectly. It is definitely a defective servo.
