When the tank is in front of the balance like the Joker I balance with a reasonable amount of fuel...or its super nose heavy till you land! I decided fly my Joker without filling the tank last week (not on purpose!) and even then the balance felt safe...right until the MAP bubble trap had 1oz in it and the turbine stopped coming past! Luckily its a good glider and I did a full circle and landed.
I'm guessing 25mm in front of the wheel axle with 1/4 tank will be about right.
We always give a conservative balance to allow for a wide range of control set ups and stick operation!!

Finally maiden mine on Saturday. Weather conditions were okay but not great. Overcast with low cloud ceiling around 300-400 foot with a slight mist every so often. Winds 10 mph. So I had to keep it low, which is where I normally fly but like to make big verticals too.
The Joker basically flies like a light weight Ultra Flash, just not as fast, but flies like its on rails. Landings are hands off easy just like the UF. Mine is powered with an older Jet Central Rabbit VT90 gas start 19lbs thrust. Full of fuel it weighs in at 21 lbs

tray is made with carbon fibre , balsa and 1/64 plywood ..very light
here few pics of my installation ..im not a master but everything work and the jet balance perfectly
made a removable tray for the 2 Life pack (RX) and one 2000 2S lipo for motor (VT80)
connect the brake on multiplex connector but not the retract ( easy to plug for my setup)
left and right side get one multiplex connector each
still some tidy to do but not much
The Joker is very light ...upset because its already snowing here, and will be a long wait until I can enjoy this beautiful jet

Although decent enough, it still bothers me a bit to see carf still has wheel cutouts that are not as clean as they could be. Here is a quick fix to make the openings look better and more round. Great planes sticky back sandpaper on the side of the cup...

Depends on battery size. I think the KT 100 is a lot heavier than the JetCat I have and the batteries are in the nose, but small. Keeps things light overall.

Got 10 flights down on my Joker so far, flies like a slower flash, really liking it more and more. Put a Dynamite gps in it and it did 188mph flat out with my 19lb turbine it her. I don't use gyros in my jets but I noticed it does have a little yaw rock back and forth at times, are you guys experiencing this? I figure its either from the large intake inlets or possibly design of the vertical stab.

Finally getting around to laying out my components. I have never had a UAT mounted flat. Any issues with mounting it flat and not at a slight angle? I also see a few that have it mounted so the front faces the tank instead of the nose, any cons to that? While we are at it, any issues mounting it straight up and down?

Depends on the make of Bubble Trap. My preferred MAP version can be mounted flat, BVM versions like to be mounted at an angle, so the feed nipples are the highest point (where the air would be when filling) but the rule should always be during the first fill of the system the feed nipple to the main tank is at its highest point. Once a bubble trap/UAT is full it should pretty much stay that way. Because the feed/pick up is in the centre of the tank it does not matter which way around it’s mounted-even vertically.

Mark Brown did. Flat hinge and block of wood on door to push it forward as the leg goes down. Rubber band to hold close. Look at an original Flash manual for clues
