Dave I peeled the side strip. Came right off. Thanks. Maybe you can answer another question If I peel the black on the wing and stab is the painted line where the white and red meet a nice line like on the fuselage. I can't tell because the decal hides it. Again, thank you

I’ve never seen one just in the paint, so not sure. I would guess so because there would have been a mask in the mould.

Hi Guy's,

I'm in the progress of " assemble" mine to, as an entry into turbine jets (after nearly 40 years of flying). Upon inspecting the nose gear assy, a wire cut was found close to the actuator location.
In fact, it was only 1/4inch from the actuator, making it impossible to splice the wire. A quick e mail to CARF and just a couple of days later, a brand new unit was received from CARF !!!!
That's what i call service.

Now, i'm moving further, and got kind of obstructed in the installation of the thrust pipe/carbon catch vs the engine. (Got a brand new K85G waiting to be installed).
I saw that earlier in this thread that the engine was shimmed…. why? Does the carbon ring requires a rework to fit (in the case of an K85?)

How is the canopy glued on the frame? Presume on the inside of the frame?

Many thanks for your assistance and help! Pics are always welcome :-)

Grts,

Eric

The carbon bells position is fixed by the former, so you always shim the turbine to be central in that circle.
Canopy glues inside, you must clean the inside surface with a Dremel sanding drum to make it a uniform thickness. You can glue it with ZAP560 and magnets or tack it with thick CA and a kicker that does not fog the clear

pictures through the thread.

Really you should contact your rep,or dealer you bought it from. But it’s on the site. [email protected].
You need to give your Q number which is how CARF track orders/models sold.

Hello,

Today, I was occupied installing the turbine K85.
As mentioned previously in this thread, the center of the engine is lower then the thrust tube intake, but rather then putting a 1/4" spacer under the engine, I would think
that moving the intake to the opposite direction would be more convenient. As the center of the engine is what's important, in respect of the exit in the back.
Moving the engine up would misalign the thrust tube, or am I wrong?

First measurements are also indicating that the thrust tube is too long.... cutting or leaving as is?

Kind Regards,

Eric

Try [email protected], as mentioned on the site.

Andreas replies quite rapidly.

Cheers,

Eric

You should not change the thrust line as that is calculated separately to any turbine. So pack the turbine as thousands of us always do.
Yes,it is a little long, cut or leave it’s your choice

I cut the the former a bit ~ 2 cm each side ( you can make a cut in the carbon bell to) to have the trust tube "flush" with the back

Depends on the turbine, with my 100 the pipe wants to start as far back as possible, or the starter hits the tank.

Hi Dave,,

Sorry for asking such stupid questions...
As I'm new into jets, I would like to do it right. That's why the question was raised
So, you are saying that the center of the thrust line is not the multiplex frame???

Eric

No question is stupid when you don’t have the answer, this forum is here to ask and ask!

I can’t tell you if the rails are centred on the round carbon bell mouth without looking at mine again, but generally, no they are not. JetCat were on of the first and the biggest influence and most turbines are not centred on the mounts, this carries over from I/C ducted fan conversions-where the fan was rubber mounted.

But, mount the pipe and then centre the turbine is normal practice.

On the K85. 1/4 ply raises it basically to perfect center with the carbon bell when the bell is sitting in its intended position

Got the battery tray built tonight I believe if you did as the directions said and velcroed the batteries in the nose cone it would break if off on a hard landing.
