Thanks bud. You are going to have to school me on landing, I was too fast each time.

It'll slow way down! Could be your CG setting since your flaps look about right from the picture. We can take a look this weekend...

So did you check your deflection of your flaps should be 55 degrees.
I had mine balance with landing fuel at the front of the wing tube and nose was very bouncy on grass after landing.
You can slow it down so much as even drag the tail on the runway.

Hey,

my flaps are 60 degrees

I am a little nose heavy still.

Were is your balance point with landing fuel?

Mine right in middle, at the back of wing tube with 1.5 liters of landing fuel in the tank, that in the middle of Carfs suggested CG point!
You can move forward 20mm or back or 20mm behind the tube . Flyers choice.

I used the tank empty nose drop method, and it fell moderately fast. Flies great just need to move it back some.

What's that method ? kinda of like having the wings off and trying to balance on the wing tube.
So you want more weight to the REAR....?

Yeah, I guess for me landing a bit fast and not having elevator feel the way I want then I would move to the rear. It's not out or whack and I can move it and see.

I had the same issues, my initial balance point was at the center of the wing tube with full UAT & empty main tank. It needed a lot of weight in the nose to achieve this forward CG (2x 5200mAh LiIons, a 3800mAh 3s LiFe for the turbine, a 2100mAh 3s LiFe for the gear plus 8oz of lead). I have since then gradually removed all extra weight from the nose, only the 2 LiIons are left and the turbine battery (no more lead and no extra gear batt). Additionally I have replaced the elevator and rudder servos with lighter ones, that saved another 3oz in the back. My CG is now about an inch behind the wingtube.

With proper gyro settings the Max still flies super stable and lands at walking pace.

Thanks bluelevel, I have two 5600 2S lipo and one 3300 3S lipo in the nose plus some lead. I took out 1 oz of lead and that didn't do much as you would expect. I have about 3 more oz up there, but I am running a Swiwin 300 as well. I'll get it.......

I am building one, all the surfaces are done and finishing the tail end. Debating to paint the inside or not as I always like pretty inside. Have a Jetcat 220 RXI for it. Looking forward to flying it. Slooowww🤣

I built a very light 700ml mobile smoke system for my rebel max. Installed or removed in 30 seconds. Together with the flare system it's a nice feature! Peter
