RE: Fly Eagle F-15 (1/9) Building Thread
Guys I got tired of waiting for someone to make a cockpit kit for the F-15C so my son and I made our own, what do you guys think? Also, decided to keep the jet and go on and finish tha thing. I guess with the economy the way it is and will be, makes no sense to just give it away.

Hallo, I have also a F15 under construction. The former contributions contain a lot of different informations about the C.G.. Which C.G. can be recommended with all three main fuel tanks are empty and the gear is extended?

Looks great Peter. Best of luck on the test flight. Beware that one of the main landing gear tires on the right side rotated 90 degrees upon landing and it caused me to loose directional control. I had flat spotted mine but that was not acceptable. I would reccomend installing a roll pin. I tried to weld mine and it did work but not very pretty due to the poor quality aluminium.
Good luck my friend! You have done a very nice job building.

RE: Fly Eagle F-15 (1/9) Building Thread
Hi Jim ...
I had the same ... when i builmy F15 ... But i've found a solution
All what you need is balsa wooden, ca-glue, glas epoxy and time.... (enough time )
The servoframe is to thin ... we saw it... your part is to fill up the distance to the right thickness ... with balsa . and control the distance in the wings that u have enough space to put in small plywoodedges on alle edges ... to stabilize the frame in the wing and to have material to srew in the screws from the servo cover on the wing...
Have a look on the following pics please ... this is better to explain the things what happen than i say it in may bad english ...
I hope you understand what i had done with the servos in the wings...
All the servos are standard size metalgear servos from hitec HS645MG the flaps and on the ails

RE: Fly Eagle F-15 (1/9) Building Thread
FWIW, I would *not* install the servos in the wing using the method that Eagle Driver did. Most importantly, it relies on the bond with the top skin completely to hold the servo in place and if the skin on your FEJ F-15 wing is anything like mine, that balsa lining, and the skin itself, is not up to the task.
The method that Peter used is how I did mine and is *much* more secure as it ties the servo mount and both wing skings together into a strong box (strong at least if you glass the servo mount as Peter did). I would note that I had to put holes in my servo hatches to clear the scres that hold the aluminum servo mounts down, but that is not that big of a deal...
