Lavirider Did your kit come with the uat mount??

thats the only difference I can tell between the advance and the standard kit, my kit is the standard and it has 8 doors too. I will post pic tomorrow. I believe that the advance kit has different rear retracs.

Main retract twist and lay flat in the fuselage, turbine is therefore rewarded to clear wheels. Had to alter the length of the pipe and shorten it to 540mm by reducing its length on both ends. The info has been submitted to FEJ .

Turbine installed is a P-120 SX.

"UAT" mount is custom made by me and is installed above the front fuel tank in the fuse....

Just finishing off a F15 for a customer, just need to do a little yiding up of the emcotec and reciver wiring.
What is the best CG that you guys are flying with?the manual says 150-160 but that seems very nose heavy to me.

Regards Greg

Hey Greg,

757driver posted this a while back:

"I must also strongly reccomend that you set the CG at 175 to 185mm. Now I must get on my soapbox for gear up vs gear down, fuel vs no fuel. Guys its really all about apples compared to apples. Your not going to fly the jet on the CG table. If we didn't have any idea of where the CG needed to be set I would agree that the check needs to be in a flight condition. I would stipulate full full and gear down as that is how the airplane will first see the air just after takeoff. However we know where it needs to be as does Yellow aircraft. Same bird same scale same aerodynamic qualities. Yellow CG's their airplanes with gear up and all fuel tanks empty. This is obviously not how it is going to fly but it establishes a benchmark and a standardized condition to set the CG. They uses 7.25" (184mm) from LE measured at the wing root. Put the wing on the jet and mark the leading edge location with a peice of masking tape. Measure aft from there. My airplane was almost unflyable at 165mm. It will be totally safe at 185 based on my flight test at 165. The airplane builds nose heavy which is safe but you will be lucky to rotate the airplane at 150 and get it off the ground at a speed less than mach 2."

Thanks ITH,i needed to come up with something to keep everything out of the canopy. Once the pilot is in its a mission to get in there to switch anything on or pump the gear.

Thanks G200flyer,ill set it on 185.Didnt realise that it was the same scale as yello aircraft.

Regards Greg

Anybody on here done one of these with EDF? I was thinking of doing one with the new Ramtec EDF system. Reportably putting out 22lbs of thrust.
Can it be done?

I have an older FEJ, but the newer models have a stronger honeycomb construction that FEJ claims is lighter. The gear door pistons and landing gear are also improved over what was once provided. I would think the new FEJ model is a good value.

KC36330, Hot rod Todd,

Thanks for your replies. Issue is that i have an opportunity to buy one of the 2 brands and would like some comparison as regards to weight, strenght, features and reliability.

Hope that someone could shed some light enabling facilitate choice....

Thanks, regards,

if it's a new FEJ carbon/honeycomb design it's lighter and stronger, they seam to have worked out a lot of bugs but sometimes their quality control still takes a few days off here and there.

All,
I have a FEJ F-15 (1/9) and am looking for the control throws. The manual I got from their site doesn't seem to list it.

I am currently only getting about 10mm up and 10mm down on my ailerons. This seems like it is way to little movement to me.

Thanks,
Randy
