RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

I'm not 100% sure on the cross reference but the guys on the Club Saito forum would know. The quickest way to an answer would probably be to send a pm to w8ye one of the moderators. If anyone...

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

The 2.70 is a perfect match for this airplane. You'll like that combination.

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

Great looking Spacewalker. That 50cc twin is one sweet engine. Nice work!

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

Low wing Cub is an apt description. I fly mine with a Saito 2.70 twin and it's a blast. It's definitely not much more than scale power. No unlimited vertical or anything but not underpowered...

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

I don't think the 50 will be overkill. I fly mine with a 2.70 four stroke which is roughly 43cc and it's a good match. Not at all overpowered. Nothing approaching unlimited vertical or anything...

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

There's a NIB kit listed in the RCU classifieds right now. The price seems reasonable.

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

I think it's a great engine and I really want one, but I don't think it would be a good one for this plane. It would fly it in a scale manner but not much more. I have a Saito 2.70 twin (glow) on...

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

Hey Yakflyer! I was flying my Spacewalker on Sunday too. I agree with you on the scale performance. I don't think I've ever flown a more forgiving plane, particularly on landings.

I use Dubro...

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

It's actually spelled coaming instead of combing but is pronounced the same way. Mine has holes punched in the sheeting and it's theaded continuously.

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

Mine doesn't seem terribly slow but it's certainly no pylon racer either. Mine is 2.5 lbs lighter than yours and the Saito 2.70 may offer a bit more "giddy-up" than your G-38. What prop are you...

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

18x8 on my G38 as well. It's not on a Spacewalker but it is on a 25# airplane and pulls it around just fine.

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

A 3.00 ought to provide plenty of power. Some clearer pictures of the cowl below. I have to take the valve covers off to get the cowl on and off. It's a snug fit. I've got a 1/3 J-3 Kitten that's...

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

Mine flies great on a Saito 2.70. Plenty of power and the sound is awesome! Balanced on the money with no ballast. McDaniel onboard glow with a small 1100 mAh NiCad AA 4 cell pack for power lets...
