RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

I have read through several pages of the Saito Gasser thread, and it
seems apparent to me that the 220 isn't the Saito dependable that
I would expect. I guess I will continue to pursue a 300...

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

The 300 Gemini is not available[:o],
so I think I'll go with a G-45. I have
one in a GS TF P-51 & it is very
reliable & easy to start. But I really
like the price of the fuel.

I have...

I don't want to paint, either.

I'm going to use Worldtex.

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

Dave,
Thanks for the input.
I can get the 300 for a great
price, & our OS engines have
always been the best. I guess
it's really a no brainer. There
are a lot of questions about the...

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

What do you guys think about an OS 300 twin
vs the Tartan. I have a line on a almost new
one for a really good price. I have a little
more confidence in the OS over the Tartan.
The OS would...

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

How much do your SW's weigh? I'm
trying to get an idea of what to expect.
The Sig manual says about 20 pounds...

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

Ed,
Here is where I'm
at with my Tartan.

It's set up for glow with
a Walbro carb below on a
phenolic adapter with the reed
valves.

I knew nothing about this engine

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

3dsky,
I have not purchased the Tartan yet. I am
buying it from a friend, so I am going to test
run it on a stand, before I commit to purchase.
I am going to test the Glow/Methanol mix...

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

Ok,
Another development. I remembered that the
guy I bought my Space Walker from had some Tartan
twins for sale. I picked one up, today, to check it for
size & to do some research on the...

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

I really like the economy of the gas engines,
but I guess I should look at the glow twins/
4 cylinders. I just think that they will be
beyond my price range.
What size glow twin would you...

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

Hey Guys!
I don't want this thread to die!

I was intending to sell my GS Top Flite
P-51, and keep the G-45 for my Space
Walker, but since I haven't even had any
offers on the Mustang,...

Jim Dietrick from Kennedale, Tx is the owner.
Very knowledgeable about Spacewalkers.
He is a really nice guy, too!

Hey DaddyO!
It was good to meet you! His 1/2 scale was
incredible! Did you buy the 1/3 that was auctioned
off at the Joe Nall? How much did you pay for it?

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

Did you guys see the half scale Space Walker II at the Joe Nall.

didn't come to life when he fired up the...

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

I would love to do the traditional
starburst scheme, but I don't think
I'm up for it. Does anyone have pics
of other Spacewalker paint schemes?
I would entertain any suggestions!
Thanks!...

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

Here's a pic of my cockpit. From what I can tell,
the builder freelanced a bit! Will probably change it
back to balsa. Those 1/2" sheet metal screws look out
of place. He also built in a full...

Will the G-45 require a prop extention?
Or does the prop bolt straight on?
Thanks again guys!

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

I don't see the US 41 in Tower. Didn't they used
to sell those?
What about the Fuji BT-50SB? It's about $40
less than the G-45.
I'm leaning toward the G-45 cause I have
used one on...
