I don't have a dog in this fight but I will say it's not the customers fault when a manufacture can't make a product that was paid for.
There may be "reasons" but those ultimately are excuses....

The Datum line should go right through the prop...

The Datum line should go right through the prop hub and parallel to it. That line extends all the way to the tail. So set up your plane with the Laser Level and that line in mind.
