RE: WACO YMF

This is faintly off topic, but since it is Waco related, I thought the group might enjoy it.

Hobby Lobby is now shipping their new Pilot-1 series ARF 1/8 scale Waco YKS-6. Being s Waco fan, I...

RE: WACO YMF

I went to a local graphics shop with a decent .jpg of the logo and asked for it to be printed on self adhesive clear film and a certain size. I think the entire sheet of about 32 was less than 29...

RE: WACO YMF

Speaking of Waco logo decals....

I had a page of them made up, mostly for my own use. I offered the others on here if you sent a self addressed stamped envelope, but never got much response.

RE: WACO YMF

No one is saying that your right foot should be off duty during a takeoff.....I am saying that good design can help reduce the need for the pilot to overdevelop the muscles in his right leg....;)

RE: WACO YMF

A number of Waco models have fin offset (see the post a few above here), not to mention a ton of other vintage aircraft, including some WWII fighters.

Before you edited you post, you said to get...

RE: WACO YMF

While doing a bit of Waco research today, I ran across this interesting link to the FAA Supplemental Type Certificate Data Sheet issued for the Waco YMF. These are the updated parts issued in 1986,...

RE: WACO YMF

There is a hole in your logic.

I never said you do not have to fly the model, or the full scale aircraft, at all times. But, why not reduce the pilot workload a bit, during certain moments in...

RE: WACO YMF

I think that is a good way to go. Some will point out on here that the real YMF had no thrust offsets and to do this to a model is something approaching a sin and perhaps suggests that you don't have...

RE: WACO YMF

Odd that he choses to call them complete kits on his web page. It is close to false advertising. Good thing his explanation is clear below the incorrect lable.

I actually like short kits as you...

RE: WACO YMF

Note that what they are calling a complete kit is actually appears to be a short kit and you must supply your own sheet balsa and strip balsa and spruce stock, not to mention cowl and wheel pants.

RE: WACO YMF

While not a YMF/UMF Waco, Hobby Lobby is about to release a very nice little Waco in the near future. I figure anything that increases the modeling world's supply of Wacos is a good thing.

Hobby...

RE: WACO YMF

I am still really enjoying my Cox/Pica Waco YMF. It was a hit with the folks that attended the big BEST electric event in New Waverly Tx earlier this month, where it was chosen as the Pilot's Choice...

RE: WACO YMF

RE: WACO YMF

There is a fairly informative thread nver in the ARF forum about the Sig Waco:

Certainly looks like it could be customized into a nicer and...

RE: WACO YMF

I do not think that is true. I know Cox is presently unable to get the Pica ARFs built, but I am nearly certain that the factory that built them did not close down.

There are certain "genetic...

RE: WACO YMF

RE: WACO YMF

I think you might find that airplanes of the 1930's vintage, Wacos included, often had the fin offset, per the link I supplied. Even the ground adjusted trim tabs were a nod towards reducing the...
