mogman, I agree the stock gear can work OK; my old Spacewalker (RIP) had one and it held up fine. Clearly care in soldering and design of the joint makes a big difference; I have a 1/4 scale Fleet...

Yeah, thanks, the cockpit edge padding is the combing. I didn't notice the note on the plans about it - as there is no mention in the instructions about it - but it seems to tell you to cut...
