I just realized after looking at ALL of your pics that you are running a gas engine. Unlikely to be a fuel delivery problem as I guessed earlier.
What engine is that by the way?

As for the engine cutting out...it sounds a little like the engine was sputtering from time to time. Bubbles in the fuel line perhaps?

The 'captured' scheme is a great choice IMHO.... I have one of these TF kits with the 'B' model conversion package...
