Yes it is G-3 and about crossing the cables I thinks it just simply makes it work better not sure why. I hooked it up both ways on mine and was much happier with it when I had them crossed.

I think the 1/7 Top flight Mustang always comes out tail heavy anyway. So moving your fuel tank back to the CG location makes no sense to me at all. You will need all the weight up front...

Nope sorry bull,
No flight yet up to my butt in snow now. Right now the wind is blowing so hard I'dd save a few bucks on glow fuel if I just put a string on it and flew it like a kite.
