RE: Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 build

Depending on the width of the gear I would apply a fillet of epoxy and carbon strands (not tow or matt) around the original uc mounting blocks.

RE: Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 build

I have a 1/4 scale MA-5 Charger with a ST3000. Wouldn't swap it for a 4 stroke at all. It has a home made stack and sounds nice.
What ever engine I select will be an O.S. I'll be having 7...

RE: Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 build

Thanks for that. Any one else??? I'm swaying more towards the 1.20 4 stroke. I've been a 2 stroke man for the last 15 years of flying.

RE: Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 build

I'd like to hear what engines people are running in their ulti's and what performance they are getting. My 1.20 2 stroke now has a home and I'm trying to decide between a 2 stroke and a 4 stroke. I...

RE: Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 build

I have had similar problems with various manufacturers. I find the simplest and quickest way is to cut new notches (or trim the ribs). They aren't really structural but just an aid to assit during...

RE: Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 build

Redundant packs are the way to go. If I have a bad unexplained crash everything gets thrown out. The reciever get looked at then when it comes back I smash it with a hammer, like wise the servos. ...

RE: Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 build

It seems that if you are into R/C aircraft you need to keep fish. We have 11 tanks running at the mo and I have about 12 models getting built. I just cant find time for both easily :D:)

RE: Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 build

What I have noted is all engines lose performance at higher altitudes. This is due to the density of the air thus less getting into the air fuel mix (the higher you are the less air there is). ...

RE: Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 build

It's really your call on engine choice. When I build from a kit the largest recommended engine is the smallest I use. I just think that 40-50cc is a bit big. You need to think of the extra torque...

RE: Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 build

Hmmmm. I have suspicions about the DA in this aswell. But I like to be proved wrong :) My MA-5 Charger bipe with about 86" span has a ST3000 and it's not bad. Really needs a 50cc but it's a heck...

RE: Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 build

I'll check out the carbon u/c at some stage. The problem with NZ is you have to double the US dollar and add shipping which sometimes makes it very expensive. I'm going to go through all posts...

RE: Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 build

I have an old ulti here at the moment. I bought it cheap to fix up but it's too far gone for that. I've had a good look at the construction and noted many area's that I personally am not happy...

RE: Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 build

Hi all. I moved away from using triangular stock for fire walls and U/C mounts years ago. The problem with it is the direction of the grain in relation to the glue joint. Instead of this I now use...
