I do a similar thing , but angle them into the middle so that they touch behind the rudder. Then it's
really accurate all the way through the range of movement of the elevator.

Yes. I have a YS110 that I bought when it first came out, that has been in a Dago Red Mustang and a Vector Flight 540 Edge, and a new, never used, Saito 100.

As I say, I'm torn between building...
