RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

Mine came out pretty nose heavy. I had to use quite a bit of BB's and epoxy in the tail.

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

Hi Sean,

I'd have a look at the new OS 55 gasser. It has dimentions and layout more like a glow engine.

George

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

The wheels looked great imo. I didnt notice the slightly smaller size from scale 4". I dont think changing the wheel size or strut for that matter will fix the problem of retract depth. You either...

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

Hi Kevin,

You can make them fit without a doubt, but you have to modify the way the retract rails fit into the ribs. The key thing is to "angle" them deeper into the wheel wells, by allowing...

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

Oh man, that sux. :(

PS I just noticed you put a G2300 in it. That's a 1.40 in cu-in. Mine was overpowered with a 1.20, so I'm not suprised that huge motor dominated it on takeoff. If i...

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

They are LADO retracts. The radio gear is a Spektrum AR7000 and a mix of Spektrum and Hitec servos. And an A123 1100mah pack, all of which work perfectly now, of course :-/

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

Gratz Aaron! It seems like all these TF Mustangs come out of the box needing down trim. Mine was well balanced, but still carried at least 1/8th down, maybe 3/16ths.

This gets my vote! :D

Aaron, if you switch is under the canopy, that canopy must be easily removable. How did you secure it?

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

The battery was an A123 LiFe pack. I did cycle it, and it had over 900mah usable capacity. Further, I recharged it just prior to that flight, and it read 7.2v just before the flight (the proper...

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

On the topic of my control problem, I've posted in this site and rcgroups in the radio forums about my event. Most opinions are that the servo would *not* have been neutralized by airflow/g's in my...

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

Bipes,

I found that in the short time I got to spend with her, my Mustang was a very honest and easy to fly airplane. In fact it was much more "in my head" than it deserves. Mine was 10 3/4...

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

Aaron that looks great... a bit more subtle.
