RE: Fly Eagle F-15 (1/9) Building Thread

Mike,

I stumbled upon this on the Troybuilt Models website.

<<
Servo arms
Must be aluminum. Do not use plastic. If you are using the included phenolic arms, do not screw these to...

RE: Fly Eagle F-15 (1/9) Building Thread

Is that onto the HiTec ( or similar) metal servo arm?

Did you drill the tailplane shaft horn to 3mm to match the bolts supplied?

BTW - I am using Stainless Steel bolts on all the critical...

RE: Fly Eagle F-15 (1/9) Building Thread

Another Question.

I have been playing around with the tailplane linkage. What type of arm is recommended for the servo - I am using Hi-Tec HS-7855TG. I have 3mm bolts for the control rod...

RE: Fly Eagle F-15 (1/9) Building Thread

Me too - it arrived last October. I have an integral garage as a workshop but it was too cold to be out there most of the last winter; plus of course I have to work to fund the hobby.

I have not...

RE: Fly Eagle F-15 (1/9) Building Thread

No, I don't think so. There is a former not too far behind the nose gear unit - and the fuselage join is just behind that. Lastly there is just no space to work in there.

I have thought about...

Yes, I understand that is a recurring problem with these F-15s.

RE: Fly Eagle F-15 (1/9) Building Thread

Yes, will do.

I think I have a cunning plan. If I put ball-links on the steering arm it looks as though I can route snakes forward on either side of the void into which the nose-leg retracts. I...

RE: Fly Eagle F-15 (1/9) Building Thread

Ho Hum. I have the "Advanced" version of the kit and that has the scale undercarriage. The noseleg is adorned with what appears to be a prototypical brace which, of course, impedes the placement of a...

RE: Fly Eagle F-15 (1/9) Building Thread

Another Question

Has anyone managed to rig the nosewheel steering with a servo mounted directly onto the nose leg? I do not like the cable system as it seems to me that it relies upon the nose...

Turbine Installation

I have a Jetcat P120SE with Jetcat FOD Guard. The FEJ F15C has two parallel wooden rails for mounting the engine, and is supplied with a composite half-bypass which can only...

RE: Fly Eagle F-15 (1/9) Building Thread

Yes, its a large O-ring on the wheel - no sign of any brake shoes.

Thanks for confirming that the servo extensions can run close by the ECU - with the Rx and Powerbox in the nose area I'll have...

RE: Fly Eagle F-15 (1/9) Building Thread

Yes! I managed to get the UAT into the void forward of the L/H saddle tank - thanks for the suggestion.

I'll try the same with the ECU on the R/H side. Just one question on that - is there any...

RE: Fly Eagle F-15 (1/9) Building Thread

Thanks Bob.

I think my nose section has been installed and removed about 5 times so far - mostly my fault for not doing stuff in the right sequence - and then I got the alloy collars for the...

RE: Fly Eagle F-15 (1/9) Building Thread

Advice Please.

I have made some good progress with my F15C recently and now need some advice.

1) Is it ok to have the UAT forward of the central hopper tank/ I plan on locating it alongside...

RE: Fly Eagle F-15 (1/9) Building Thread

On a practical note, a possible fix where cracked ribs are inaccessible is to use aerosol foam which you squirt into the cavity - you may need to drill a hole to get the applicator tube into the...
