The one I built also had Cheetahs, but all 4 batteries are near the forward edge of the cockpit. Granted this is the Su-27 model so perhaps the canards add a bit of weight. But then, you have thrust...

I just realized you guys are referencing leaving the stab rods and unscrewing the stabs from the rods. Easy peasy. In my head I was thinking more about removing the rods with the stabs to get to the...

We’ve never actually flown without the slats, they’ve been on the same channel with flaps since day one. I want to say I set the throw at 1/4” and 1/2” measured at the inboard end against the...

I knew they had all new gear in the works also, really just curious if they have their new set of wheels/tires/brakes available that will tolerate the weight without being too heavy themselves.

Not sure that's going to be possible. The K-85s are only going to save about 2 lbs from the 160s in my build, not sure where you could shave another 4 lbs. My weight was also with junky Dubro wheels,...

Obviously on a plane that size it can vary significantly based on equipment, batteries, even just wiring. In my case, 49.9 lbs dry with a pair of 160s.
